Collections must be created as the basis for a transaction. Collections are identified by their 'collectionidentification' which is simply the unique reference used with BankTech. Collections can be created in a couple ways but since you are reading the developer guide we assume you are interested in how to create collections through our API.
If configured, BankTech can automate the creation of collections for once-off and recurring mandates that qualify for automated collection creation. We will create a schedule of 6 months worth collections in advance, allowing you to forecast your cash flow and make changes well in advance of the action date. Your collection automation rules will be applied after the default mandate configuration.
If you don't want to use BankTech's automated collection creation, or you have not enabled it for a specific mandate, you can manually generate collections through the BankTech for a mandate or set of mandates. When selecting mandates to have collections generated for, you can choose which date range within collections should be created and we will apply your collection rules when doing so.
Users of the BankTech can also upload collection creation files in .XLS format for processing. The data dictionary and template for doing so is provided in the process of uploading a collection file. Any errors with creation of collections will be downloadable after the collection attempt and a corrected file may then be re-uploaded until all collections are successfully accepted.
Ad hoc collections or collections linked to a mandate can also be created through . We provide a user interface form in the BankTech console and in our applets which will allow users to manually create a new collection and link it to a mandate if required. These forms make it easy for Agents or other every day users to capture new transactions.
