Amending collections

Collections that are created by automation or by users can be amended. Collections are identified by their 'collectionidentification' which is simply the unique reference used with BankTech. Collections can be amended in a couple ways but since you are reading the developer guide we assume you are interested in how to create collections through our API.

Manual editing

Users of the BankTech console can manually edit a single collection, or perform a bulk edit of a set of selected collections. Bulk editing applies changes to all selected collections and one should be careful not to change a field that is not intended to be changed commonly across all selected collections. Approved collections must be unapproved before amendment is possible.

File upload

Users of the BankTech console can also upload collection amendment files in .XLS format for processing. The data dictionary and template for doing so is provided in the process of uploading a collection file. Any errors with creation of collections will be downloadable after the collection attempt and a corrected file may then be re-uploaded until all collection amendments are successfully accepted.

API method

PATCH: /collections/bulk

This will amend the data for single or multiple collections.

• Rate limit: 1 per second

• Payload size: 1,000 collections

You can obtain a collectionidentification by using the GET: /collections or POST: /mandates/collections/identifications methods to find a specific collection.
